Sanford Joseph Hardin, age 83, of Fairmont, NC passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Greenbrier in Fairmont, NC. He was born in Robeson County on October 21, 1940 to the late Herbert Hardin and the late Ruth Jenkins Hardin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, George Smith.

Mr. Sanford was a bus mechanic for Robeson County Public Schools. He enjoyed fishing and cooking with the men at the Old House.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Lamb Hardin; son, Sanford "Sandy" Joseph Hardin, II and wife Tarra; granddaughter, Macie Hardin and significant other, Reese Dickerhoff, and grandson, Greyson Hardin; and a cousin that was more like a sister, Debra Jenkins.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lamb Family Cemetery, 246 Jenkins Road, Fairmont, NC 28340. Visitation will follow at the cemetery. Rev. Ed Wilcox will officiate the service.
