Mr. Sammy Michael "Mike" Parker, age 70, of Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC.  Mike was born on December 27, 1949.  Mike was a retired educator and school administrator. He began his career as a Spanish teacher at Lumberton High School.  After teaching a few years, he obtained his school administration license and then began working as an Assistant Principal at Fairmont High School, where he worked until he retired in 2007.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Mack Parker and Etheleen Martin Parker, and his brother, Jerry Max Parker, all of Red Springs, NC.

Mike is survived by his only son, Stephen Parker of Lumberton, NC; a sister-in-law, Patsy Parker of Longs, SC, a niece, Kristie Parker Varnum, and two grandnieces, Crystal & Jerri Garner, all of Longs, SC; his cousin, Craig Parnell and wife Rene of Orrum, NC; and his special friends, Joey & Debbie Bruce, Johnny Hall, and Gearonie Locklear.

A visitation will be held with family and friends on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
