Sallie Catherine Locklear, 79, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born April 17, 1937 in Robeson County to the late Arthur Emanuel and the late Dora Locklear Emanuel. She was formerly employed with Jasper Mills and was a long-time member of Union Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husbands: Hubert Oxendine and Russell L. Locklear; a daughter, Janice Oxendine; a brother, James Arthur; and two sisters: Stella Mae Emanuel McMillan and Doris Yanick.

She is survived by two sons: Michael Oxendine and wife Vickie of Lumberton and Dwayne Locklear and wife Selena of Red Springs; one daughter, Catherine Jacobs of Lumberton; one brother, Arthur Emanuel, Jr. of Hamlet; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2017, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Teddy Jacobs and Pastor Ronnie Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens in Lumberton.
