Sadie Rae Thompson Davis, 86, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County to Henry Frank Thompson and Sally Phillips Thompson on July 10, 1922. She was employed at Leder Brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland Davis; three brothers, Henry Thompson, Lester Thompson, and Franklin, Thompson; and one sister, Sarah Kaukola.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Winfred R. Davis and wife, Anna and John T. Davis and wife, Faye all of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Mary Ann Britt of Fairmont, NC and Faye Floyd of Lumberton, NC; one brother, Jimmy Thompson of Durham, NC; and two sisters, Joyce Rice of Lumberton, NC and Violet Crawford of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Antioch Baptist Church of Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 7:00 PM with Reverends Mark Meadows and Kevin Davis officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Phillips Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive visitors after the funeral service on Wednesday evening.
