Sadie Smith Mincey, age 82, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. Sadie was born in Lumberton, NC on March 3, 1944 to the late Neil Archie Smith and Sylvia Hilda West Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mitchell Boyd Mincy.

Sadie will be remembered for her love of shopping and eating out with friends and family. Sadie retired from SCX and Southern Grain after many years. Family was the most important thing to her, she loved them all so dearly. Sadie also had an active church life, when in Shallotte she attended Old Shallotte Baptist Church and when in Lumberton, she attended Antioch Baptist Church.

Sadie is survived by her two sisters, Annette Branch and Joyce Smith Kinlaw of Shallotte; brother, Daniel Howard; nieces and nephews, Jerry Kinlaw (Melissa), Marlo Kinlaw Prevatte (Greg) of Lumberton, NC, Jim Sanders of Charlotte, NC, Johnny Sanders (Liz) of Naples, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 Fayetteville Rd., Lumberton, NC 28358.
