Mrs. Ruth Pate Wilkins Mayers, 93, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at her home. She was born in Robeson County, NC on February 2, 1928 to the late Charlton Bishop Pate and the late Ruth Parker Pate.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Mayers; her former husband, Cecil Wilkins; and a sister, Martha Pate Kelly.

She is survived by her children: Peggy Wilkins Ward and husband Sammy, Eddie Mayers and wife Sarah, Kathy Mayers, and Helen Walters and husband Ronald, all of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren: Pam Ward Gil (Rainier), Richard Ward, Taylor Mayers, Sam Mayers, Karen Hendren (David), James Mayers, Ronnie Walters, Jr. (Pam), Tammy McCartney, and Melissa Hall (Wade); her great-grandchildren: Evan Odum, Seth Odum, Laiken Ward, Zachery McCartney (Brianna), Emily Hall, and Whitney Hall; and a special nephew, Dr. Douglas Kelly and wife Caroline.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church's Fellowship Hall. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary with Pastor Jeff Broadwell, Pastor LeRoy Burke, and Dr. Douglas Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
