Mrs. Ruth Ann Joyce Doerman, age 78, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019. She was born on June 20, 1941 in Wood County, WV to the late Stephen Joyce and the late Vieva Hawkins Joyce. She retired from Scotland Memorial Hospital as P.A. for many years.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Herman Doerman; two brothers, Joseph Joyce and James Joyce; and one sister, Renee Joyce.

She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Joyce Doerman and husband Leon of the home; her grandson, George Payne Doerman of the home; and her best friend, Gail Fowler.

The family will receive friends at the home on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 6:00-9:00 PM.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019, at 12:00 PM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2000 Elizabethtown Road in Lumberton, with Father Zacharie Tati officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton.
