Rev. Russell Aldean Kinlaw, Sr., age 84 of Lumberton NC, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at home. He was born in Robeson County on February 18, 1942 to the late Proctor and Clyde Kinlaw.

On April 1, 1961, he married Betty Lou Edwards and spent 65 beautiful years together. At the age of 22, he surrendered his life to Jesus and served him passionately for 63 years. During the 1970's and 80's, he began traveling the eastern United States preaching the gospel. He held numerous tent meetings and revival services, saw countless miracles, healings, and deliverances, went on multiple mission trips to Mexico, and had a 50+ year radio ministry.

He pastored multiple churches until 1992 when he and his wife founded the Pentecostal Faith of God Church. He pastored there faithfully until the time of his death. He was a man of prayer and dedication. Hours were spent on his knees and in Bible study. At the time of his passing, all three of his children, four grandchildren and their spouses, and his nine great-grandchildren are in church and serving Jesus. His dedication to God was whole-hearted and God rewarded him richly.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Kinlaw of the home; his sons, Russell Kinlaw, Jr. (Donna) of Hope Mills, NC and Earl Kinlaw (Jann) of Clinton, NC, and daughter, Angela Wilkerson (Eddie) of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren: Hannah Herring (Adam) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Bethany Meadows of Newton Grove, NC, Leah Brockmeyer (Brandon) of Dunn, NC, and Joshua Kinlaw (Cydney) of Dunn, NC; 9 great-grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter on the way.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton NC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22 at 2:00 P.M. at Pentecostal Faith of God Church, 2650 McPhail Road in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Ray Butler, Rev. Russell Kinlaw, Jr., and Rev. Donald Haire officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
