Mr. Rufus Revels, 85, of Bakersfield Drive, Lumberton, NC, departed this life Saturday, July 7, 2018.  Rufus was born October 12, 1932 to H.P. Revels and Dovey Viola Hammonds Revels.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Danny Locklear, his daughter, Tammy Locklear;  His sister, Mattie Retha Brewer; seven brothers: Arguster, Talmadge, Roosevelt, Freddie, Percell, John, Prentis and many other relatives and friends.

Rufus leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years, Emma; three daughters: Carol (Bobby) Locklear, Teresa (Ricky) Locklear and Velma Locklear; his brother, William Revels; two sisters-in-law, Magalene Revels and Calpurnia Revels; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Bethel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Groves, Rev. Jimmy Hammonds, and Rev. Randy Revels officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
