Rose Ellen Oxendine, age 85, of Fairmont passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 3:00PM at St. Anna Baptist Church with Revs. Roy Locklear and Johnnie Hyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Family Cemetery in Pembroke. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6-8PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Ms. Oxendine was born August 5, 1930 in Robeson County. She enjoyed reading novels, mysteries, shopping, and traveling. She also loved canning fruits and vegetables, and watching "Gun Smoke". She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Linnie Jacobs Oxendine; two sons, Charles and Earl Oxendine; nine brothers, Willie, Ira, Jimmy, Winford, Paul, Stanford, Charlie, Wiley, and Reynolds "Buck" Oxendine; one sister, Ida Mae Lewis. a granddaughter, Melinda Rose Scott; two grandsons, Timmy Wayne MeGee and James Sweatt; two great granddaughters, Leslie McGee and Brittany McGee She is survived by three sons, Ralph Sweatt and friend Linda, Lloyd Oxendine and Mervin Oxendine all of Fairmont; three daughters, Elizabeth McGee and husband Bobby of Fairmont, Lynn Brooks and husband Aremanuel of Maxton, and Connie Graham and husband Brian of Fairmont; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; She is also survived by the last members of the Wilbert Jacobs Family, Launa Elk, age 89 of Pembroke and Macie Oxendine, age 100 of Fairmont.
