Roger Dale Bishop, age 75, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on September 25, 1950 to the late William A. & Ila M. Bishop. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Roger, he would surely have left a memorable impression. He was a character for sure, and he will be remembered for his sense of humor, especially for using funny voices in conversation and making strange noises at any given moment. His hobbies and pastimes included playing the guitar and going fishing.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Bishop.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bishop of the home; his son, Eric Bishop of Lumberton, NC; his daughter, Trina Bishop Walters (David) of Lumberton, NC; his grandchildren: Kyndal Walters, Gavin Walters, and Jordan Bishop; a brother, Murray Bishop (Sharon) of Bladenboro, NC; and a sister, Valaria Britt of Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Johnny Bruce officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research or to the charity of your choice.
