Mr. Robert Stone, 71, of Tar Heel, NC, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. He was born on February 26, 1941 to the late Boyd and Dorcas Stone. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Paul.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosa Stone, of the home; one brother, John B. Stone and wife, Susan of St. Pauls, NC; one sister, Ann Ellis and husband, Tommy of Clinton, NC; two daughters, Lisa Abbott and husband, Joe of Tar Heel, NC and Wanda Smith of Clinton, NC; four grandchildren, Crystal Abbott Coffman and husband, Shane of Leland, NC, Dana Smith Gatlin and husband, Robbie of Roseboro, NC, Tiffany Smith Roberts and husband, Steven of Branson, MO and Amanda Abbott Murillo and husband, Andy of Tar Heel, NC; and four great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6:00-8:00PM at Tar Heel Baptist Church in Tar Heel, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 3:00PM at Tar Heel Baptist Church with Dr. Mack Roberts and Rev. Warren Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
