Robert Zenith Stewart, age 92, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. He was born in Carrolton, MO on January 16, 1922 to the late William Robert Stewart and the late Lina Walker Stewart. He previously was a Welder Instructor for Robeson Community College. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jeanette Sessoms Poston, three brothers and three sisters. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. Sessoms Stewart of the home; sons, Roger Stewart of NJ, Derwood Stewart and wife, Sherry of FL, Robert Stewart and wife, Angie of NJ, and Tye Stewart of NJ; three sisters, Cleta Renaldo of NJ, Vivian Howard and Betty Simpson, both of Kansas City, MO and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. LeRoy Burke officiating. A time for visitation will follow the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 12883 NC Hwy 41 N, Lumberton, NC 28358 or a charity of your choice.
