Mr. Robert Matthew Stephens, age 50, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Southeastern Health of Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County on January 11, 1965. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Yarborough Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Linda Barnes Stephens of the home, one son, Robert Matthew Stephens of Virginia, two daughters, Jessica Jolly of Gastonia, NC and Ferrin Bass of Lumberton, his father, James Nelson Stephens of Lumberton, six brothers: James Earl Yarborough and wife, Kathy, of Lumberton, James Nelson Stephens, Jr. of Bladenboro, Terry Wayne Stephens and wife, Angie, of Lumberton, Sammy Stephens of Lumberton, Tristan Tyler of Lumberton, and Mike Tyler of Lumberton; five sisters: Joyce Jones, Donna Hunt and husband, Richard, Susan Stephens, Jenny Stephens and husband Johnny Bodiford, and Tiffany Gain, all of Lumberton; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Locklear and Rev. Bruce Ranson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hollywood Cemetery.
