Mr. Robert Oscar Oliver, Jr., age 68, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County on August 12, 1947 to Robert Oscar Oliver, Sr. and Doretha Britt Oliver. He served honorably in the US Air Force and was later employed as a mechanic for Progress Energy. He also served as a lieutenant for Allenton Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert is survived by 2 daughters: Lynda Dae Leymeister and husband Jason of Apex and Amanda Porter and husband Bo of Orrum; 1 step-daughter, Jennifer Lewis and husband Ray of Hope Mills; 5 grandchildren: Brittany, Dominic, Amelia, Ava, & Abigail; and a special friend, Mae Jackson of Lumberton.

A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Keith Long and Rev. Barry Helms officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery.
