Robert Paul Hunt, Jr., age 54, of Lumberton was called away from this life on Thursday April 2, 2026. He was given great care and support in an effort to keep him here with us but ultimately it was God's decision to take him home.

Jr. finished his race ahead of his parents, Robert and Dolores Hunt; his sister, Della Moreno, and brother, James Hunt (Chrystal) all of Lumberton. Also left to cherish the many fond memories are two children, Isaiah Hunt (Abigail) and Hannah Hunt, both of Lumberton, and two grandchildren, Za'Nora and Zae'Anna McNeil. Jr also will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephew, Christy (Brandon), Israel (Alexis), and Erin. Additionally, many aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends will kindly remember him.

Jr. loved fishing, flying kites and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He didn't like to get in a rush and he believed in doing any task given to him as best as he could. Jr. was a joy to spend time with and he could really make you laugh. Anyone who knew him personally would admit that he looked tough at first but you quickly found out that he was friendly, kind, and believed in living life to the fullest. Moreover, you would discover that he was a compassionate and caring man. Jr. was one of those men that you could call for help and he would be right there. In fact, Jr.'s desire to help others was so sincere and heartfelt that he signed up to be an organ donor. In doing so, he was happy and satisfied to know that he could continue to be a blessing to others even after he had moved on to glory. We shall not say goodbye to him, but rather we shall say "See you later."

The family will be gathering at the home of Robert Hunt, Jr.'s brother, James and Chrystal Hunt, 5400 Beaver Drive in Lumberton, NC 28358.

The visitation will be held prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM.
