Robert Lewis Farnsworth, Sr., 74, left this earth, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born January 20, 1948 in Ellsworth, ME. He joined the U.S. Army, proudly serving as a Green Beret and during the Vietnam War. Shortly after joining the Army, he met his loving wife of 51 years, Peggy Britt Farnsworth. He later retired from Time Warner Cable.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Daisy Farnsworth, and his siblings: Everett Farnsworth, Freddie Farnsworth, and Betty Hogan.

He was a loving and devoted father to his children, Robert Lewis Farnsworth, Jr. (Melissa) and Shanna Halliburton (Jeffery), and a loving Papa to his Kinsley ("Moonbeam") and Jase Farnsworth. He is also survived by siblings, Paul Farnsworth (Shirley) and Nancy Knowles (Robert).

He was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church and he loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith in God. Anyone who knew Robert knew he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He had a funny sense of humor and was very interested in the lives of his grandkids. He will be missed more than words can say.

The family of Robert would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Wesley Pines Community for the guidance and care over the last several months.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 5089 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Blake Dodd and Rev. Mark Meadows officiating.

Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
