Mr. Robert Lee Chavis, age 75. of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Green Brier Assisted Living in Fairmont.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Fairpoint Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Tracy Locklear and Charles Cummings officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairpoint Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday January 19, 2017 from 6:00PM-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

Robert Chavis was born October 1, 1941 in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Johnie and Mamie Chavis; two sisters, Melvin Locklear and Mary Ann Chavis; and three brothers, Allen Chavis, Ray Chavis, and James (Pete) Chavis.

He is survived by three sisters, Ruby (Tracy) Locklear of McDonald, Teresa (Ray) Walters of Fairmont, and Betty Mason of Lumberton; five brothers, Cleveland (Delois) Chavis, Henry Chavis, David Chavis, Earl (Cynthia) Chavis, all of Fairmont, and Rev. Eugene (Dorothy) Chavis of Rowland; a special friend Carolyn of Greenbrier, several nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
