Robert Melvin Bryant, Sr., age 86, of Lumberton, NC died at his home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on August 16, 1931 to the late Henry and Ruby Taylor Bryant.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and then worked in manufacturing as a shipping foreman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Bryant, Jr.; a grandson, Thomas Ray Bryant; and two brothers, Henry Bryant, Jr and Tom Bryant.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife of 63 years, Neilly Edge Bryant of the home; a son, Ricky Bryant (Bobbie) of Lumberton; daughters, Theresa Wiggins (Ricky) and Connie Bryant of Lumberton; sisters Fay Bryant of Lumberton and Janice Jones (Chuck) of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Tiffany Wilkins (Britt) and Tracey Ivey (Josef); and great-grandchildren, Austin Ivey, Emma Ivey, and Hannah Wilkins.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Meadows and Rev. C.J. Bordeaux officiating.  A time for visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Bryant Family Cemetery.
