Mr. Richard Ray Edwards, Sr., age 90, of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on June 11, 1930 to the late James Edwards and the late Annie Davis Edwards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edwards and Henry Edwards, and a sister, Marcella Newman.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his four children: Beverly Edwards of Winnabow, NC, Richard Ray Edwards, Jr. (Brenda) of Owasso, OK, Jimmy Edwards (Yvonne) of Wilmington, NC, and Melody Ann Edwards (Jennifer) of Tampa, FL; one brother, Harold Edwards (Mary Louise) of Columbia, MS; four grandchildren: Adrienne Gibbs, Angela Eisman, Shane Edwards, and Kayla Edwards; and four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Savannah, Brynn, and Abigail.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at 11:00AM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. Richard Edwards officiating.  A time of visitation will follow at the cemetery.
