Richard Davis Boyd, age 65, of Tar Heel, NC, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at his home.

Ricky was born in Robeson County on October 1, 1960 to Kenneth Eugene Boyd, Sr. and Barbara Tyson Boyd. In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Boyd West.

Ricky was a great servant seeking to help everyone that he could. He enjoyed playing the guitar. Several years ago he started a card ministry to Nursing Homes and Homebound members through his church, Dublin First Baptist, which just recently has delivered over 2000 cards. Ricky was instrumental in delivering many of the cards providing another touch through this ministry. Ricky loved his Lord and his church, Dublin First Baptist.

Ricky is survived by his brother, Kenneth Eugene Boyd, Jr., of Hartsville, SC; niece and nephews, Gilda Boyd Wall and husband, Jody of Wendell, NC, Stephen Kenneth Boyd of Wendell, NC, and Samuel Carl West; great-nieces and nephews, Taylor Guidi and husband, Jonah, Dean Wall, Kenly Boyd, Brayden Boyd, Wesley Boyd, Landyn Boyd; special care taker, Tammy Prevatte; and his two special cats, Horace and Patchese.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Meadowbrook Cemetery, 24th St, Lumberton, NC 28358. The family will greet family and friends after the service at the cemetery.
