Redell Chavis, age 65, of Lexington, NC died on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on May 2, 1945 to Redell and Lessie Chavis, Sr. He worked for Atrium Window Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Redell and Lessie Chavis, Sr. and two sons, Redell Jr. Chavis III and Phillip Ray Chavis.

Mr. Chavis is survived by three daughters, Amanda Chavis, Kim Dale Chavis Snipes and Melisa Chavis Graham all of Asheboro, NC; his ex-wife, Anna Jane Currin of Ramseur, NC; four brothers, Roger Dale Chavis and Bill Carl Chavis both of Lumberton, NC and Jerry Chavis and Christopher Chavis both of Lexington, NC; six sisters, Sybil Lowery, Shirley Chavis, Sadie Chavis Annie Ivey and Linda Miller, all of Lumberton, NC and Paulette Chavis of Lexington, NC; nine half brothers and sisters; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Galilee Baptist Church in Red Springs, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday evening, August 9, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E 5th Street in Lumberton.
