Pastor Raymond T. Ellis, Sr., 84, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on November 2, 1937 to the late Milburn Ellis and the late Ruby Tyner Ellis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army-National Guard and will be remembered for his many years of faithful service to Christ as a minister. He founded and pastored Country Bible Baptist Church for over 42 years. He dedicated his entire life to serving the Lord.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond "Ty" Ellis, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Ellis of the home; his daughter, Tammy Ellis Coleman (Johnny); his stepchildren, Amanda Britt (Luther) and Don Britt (Susan); his grandchildren: Danielle Coleman (Tron Brooks), Megan Coleman Scott (Arron), Bethany Ellis, Priscilla Eveans (Mike), Harley Carter, Mindy Carter, Trent McDougald (Kenzie), Travis Britt (Rebecca), and Jared Britt; 15 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ellen Smith of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Milburn Ellis, Jr. (Linda) of Shannon, NC and Murray Ellis (Ann) of Sumter, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC, with Preacher Charles Brewer and Pastor Johnny Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
