Rachel Hayes Powers, 83, of Linkhaw Place, died Tuesday, January 29,
2008 at her residence. She was born to the late Austin Hayes, Sr. and Dora
Bright Hayes on July 24, 1924 in Robeson County.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Phillip Jones.
She is survived by her son, Steven Scott and wife, April of Lumberton; 2
daughters, Nancy Jones and husband, L.T. of Lumberton and Diane Lee and
husband, Cecil of Daytona, FL; 2 sisters, Ruth Dowless of Lumberton and
Dee Patterson of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at
New Hollywood Cemetery with the Rev. Don Goforth officiating.
The family will receive friends following the services at New Hollywood
Cemetery.
