Ms. Qussie Strickland, age 69, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 3:00pm at McDonald Church of God, Hwy. 130 Fairmont with Rev. Ellen Faye Hunt and Brother John R. Locklear. Burial will follow in the McDonald Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, evening from 7:00-9:00pm at Floyd Funeral Services of Fairmont. Qussie was born January 26, 1946 in Robeson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Lula Mae Bartley Cummings; her husband, Bill Strickland; three brothers, Archie Jr., Jimmy Earl and Donald Cummings; three sisters, Darlis Cummings, Sadie Rae Locklear and Dora Frances Oxendine; a foster sister, Madeline Carol Hunt. She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Archie "Lump" Strickland of the home; two daughters, Darlene Chavis and Annette Hunt and husband Avery all of Fairmont; two brothers, Junior "Skeet" Cummings and Donnie "Cuppie" Cummings; a sister-in-law, Judy Cummings; five grandchildren, Matt Strickland (Jacquelyn), Mya Strickland, Billy Hunt, Mason Thomas and Madison Strickland; two special friends, Cathy Hammonds and Livian Hunt.
