Preston Ivey, 80, of Fairmont, NC died on June 5, 2009 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. He was born on June 12, 1928 to Sidney Ivey and Nooner Lewis Ivey in Robeson County, NC. Mr. Ivey was a millworker at Milliken & Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Oleen Bass Ivey.

Mr. Ivey is survived by five daughters, Cynthia Bass of Burlington, NC, Judy Johnson of Fairmont, NC, Belind Smith and Katie Vann both of Lumberton, NC, and Tammie Armstrong of Fairmont, NC; one brother, Aubrey Ivey of Fairmont, NC; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be beld on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Church of God, Hwy 904 in Fairmont with the Reverends Chris Locklear and Tommy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Bass Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont,NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be sent to Oakdale Church of God.
