Phyllis Lowery Yaw, age 72, of Kentucky and formerly of Fairmont passed away Monday September 13, 2015 in Kentucky. Funeral services will be held Friday September 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont. Visitation will be Thursday September 17, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Burial will follow in Thompson's Family Cemetery in Rowland, NC. She was born February 21, 1943 in Robeson County to the late Daulman Lowery and Katie Locklear Lowery. She enjoyed Bible Study, shopping with the Senior Ladies, cooking for neighbors, and she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Yaw of 40 years; two sons, Hollins L. Oxendine and Leon Oxendine; two daughters, Sabina Oxendine and Julie Rouse; two brothers, Albert and Daulman Lowery Jr.; and one sister, Louvertie Potts. She is survived by one son, John Yaw and wife Kimberly of Louisa, KY; three daughters, Joyce Britt, Peggy Allen, and Stephanie Gillman, all of Lumberton; one brother, Larry Lowery of Lumberton; two sisters, Hilda Ransom and Judy Cummings, both of Lumberton; twenty four grandchildren and forty great grandchildren.
