Obituary

Phillip Ray Wall Sr., age 70, passed away on July 29, 2026. Born on February 15, 1956, Phillip lived a vibrant life rooted in faith, mentorship, and dedicated service to his family and community.

Throughout a rich journey that spanned from Burlington, North Carolina, to Maryland and communities across Florida, Phillip left an enduring mark on everyone he met. A pillar of his church and a natural leader, he dedicated his career to craftsmanship, education, and civic involvement. As the former owner of Midway Garage, he served his community with skill and integrity. He later found profound purpose in inspiring the next generation as an automotive teacher at Immokalee High School in Florida, guiding countless students before his retirement. Upon moving to Fairmont, North Carolina, his passion for civic leadership continued as he ran for Mayor to serve the community he loved.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Helene Thomas Wall; his two sons, Phillip Ray Wall Jr. and Matthew Allen Wall; his grandchild, Cooper Allen Wall; and his sisters, Pamela Wall Massey and Rhonda Wall Petty. He will be remembered fondly as a devoted husband, proud father, caring brother, dedicated educator, and faithful friend.
