Phillip Hunt, age 53, of Fairmont, NC passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

He was born July 13, 1972 in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Owens Hunt; his maternal grandparents, Datris "Doc" Hunt and Queen Esther Hunt; two uncles, Datris Hunt, Jr., Michael Hunt, and Ronnie Hunt.

Phillip was a people person; he never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family, cooking, and his animals, especially dogs and cats. In his early years he sang in the choir at Pleasant View Church, was part of the youth. He always found time to help senior citizens in any capacity that he could.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Minnie Lee Hunt of the home; two brothers, James Owens Hunt (Lacey) of Eugene, Oregon and Bryant Hunt (Tilder) of Fairmont, NC; two uncles, Jerry Hunt (Cheryl) of Concord, NC and McGregory Hunt (Pamela) of Fairmont, NC; a foster child, Carlos Graham of Fairmont, NC; three aunts, Linda Hunt of Fairmont, NC, Janice Jacobs of Lumberton, NC and Beatrice Smith "Sissy" (Jackie) of Fayetteville, NC; five nephews, Robbie Hunt and Jacy Hunt both of Eugene, Oregon, Elijah Hunt (Sofia) of Orrum, NC, Bryan Hunt (Cas) of St. Pauls, NC and Landon Hunt of Fairmont, NC; special cousins, Clayton Hunt, Marcus Locklear, Timmy Hunt, Brandon and Rodney Jacobs, Kelsey Hunt, Roy Lee Hunt (Ann) and a host of other special cousins; a great aunt, Mary Frances Hunt; a great uncle, Yancey Hunt; his long time special friends, Christy Gomez, and her son, Tobias, Najee Jones, Brianna Hunt, Sharon Jackson and Cookie Hunt, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, NC. A service will immediately follow in the chapel at 2;00PM.
