Penney Jean Riley, 70, of 393 Branch Road, Lumberton, NC , died
Monday, December 29, 2008 at Southeastern Hospice House. She was born in Kentucky on
September 15, 1938. Upon Bud??s retirement from Emerson Electric, Murrysville, PA, their plans
were to live in South Carolina but divine intervention stopped them in Lumberton. In January
1990 the whole Riley family moved to Lumberton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nevin Maurice (Bud) Riley, Jr. in July 2007. She
is survived by a son, Nevin Maurice Riley, III and wife, Melody; a daughter, Lori Dove and
husband, Willard, both of Lumberton; a special sister, Jewell Spence; special caregiver, Angela
Stead; grandchildren: Nevin Maurice Riley IV, Jennifer Riley, James Riley, Christopher Riley,
Brandon Riley, Lorraine Riley, Bradley Dove, and Allison Dove.
The funeral service will be Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Floyd Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
with Rev. Mark Meadows officiating.
The family will receive friends following the services in the visitation room.
