Penia N. McBryde, age 93, of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at her home. She was born in Johnston County, NC on September 8, 1918 to the late Thomas Nichols and the late Ceneth Raper Nichols. She formerly worked as a teacher for the NC Public School System.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.G. ??Bob? McBryde.

Mrs. McBryde is survived by two sons, Graham McBryde and his wife, Gilda of Greenville, NC and Tommy McBryde and his wife, Sandra of Shalotte, NC; a daughter, Lillian Michael of the home; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. Tony Stevens officiating. There will be a time of visitation after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity or organization of one??s choice.
