Ms. Peggy Taylor Smith, age 70, of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Taylor and Ava Gray Phillips Taylor, and a brother, Kenneth Taylor.

She is survived by a daughter, Renee Cherbonneau and husband George of Sanford, NC; a brother, Sanford Taylor and wife Victoria of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Dianne Pate of Butters, NC and Billie Jean Anderson of Georgia; a granddaughter, Caitlin Thomas and husband Joe of Spring Lake, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Ava Gray Thomas.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, March 14, 2021, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev. Tony Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Phillips Family Cemetery on T. P. Road in Lumberton, NC.
