Mrs. Peggy Ruth Britt, age 88, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021, at Lumberton Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Robeson County, NC, on December 1, 1932.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Davis, Sr. and Susan Britt Davis; husband, Ray Britt; six sisters and two brothers; her son, Billy Ray Britt; and two grandsons, William Oliver Hedgpeth and Hunter Ray Britt.

She is survived by a son, E.K. Stephens (Ellen); a daughter, Diane Hedgpeth (Billy); a daughter-in-law, Rene Britt; a brother-in-law, Wayne Britt (Frances); a special friend, Louise McLean; five grandchildren: Frankie Britt (Meredith), Matthew Stephens (Lisa), Joni Thomas (Jody), Heather Hensley (Daniel), and Michael Hedgpeth (Heather); and eleven great-grandchildren: Noah and Emma Britt, Caroline, Hope, and Mattie Stephens, Dylan, Logan, and Ethan Thomas, Gracelyn Hensley, and Oliver and Tenley Hedgpeth.

A private graveside service will be held at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
