Mrs. Peggy Ruth Allen, age 82, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019. She was born in New Hanover County, NC on September 25, 1937 to the late Fred Quincy Allen, Sr. and the late Mary Swain Allen. She retired with from the Public Schools of Robeson County.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gibson Allen; three brothers: F.Q. Allen, Jr., Ralph Thomas Allen, and John Henry Allen; and two sisters, Pauline Cameron and Dottie Fisher.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Allen and wife Sandra, Tammy Allen Britt and husband Randy, all of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Molli Britt Haymore and husband Brian and Zachary Britt; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Haymore and Channing Haymore; and a special niece, Denise Allen of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, November 11, 2019, from 2:00-3:30 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 12883 Hwy 41 N. in Lumberton. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:45 PM with Rev. LeRoy Burke and Rev. Charles Brust officiating.
