Paul Speights, Jr., age 83, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born in Robeson County, NC on December 12, 1930 to the late Paul and Viola Bullard Speights, Sr. He previously worked for Modern Gas. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Theda Mae Edwards, Melba Parker, and Faye Green. Mr. Speights is survived by his wife of sixty years, Lanie Speights of the home; two sons, Rickie Speights of Lumberton and Randy Darryl Speights of Sylva; a daughter, Allison Speights of Lumberton; a brother, Bob Speights of Lumberton; a sister, Judy Rogers of Fayetteville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
