Mr. Paul T. Outland, 77, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on May 10, 1945 to the late Linwood Paul Outland and the late Rita Marie Conturier Outland.

A proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran, he served as a lighthouse keeper at the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse during his time of service. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Outland and Rene Outland.

He is survived by his sons, Paul T. "Tommie" Outland, Jr. and wife Wendy of Commercial Point, OH and Brian Outland of Portsmouth, VA; his daughters: Rita S. Peffer of Elizabeth City, NC and April Hedgepeth and Amanda Fortin and husband Fausto, both of Portsmouth, VA; 7 grandchildren; and his special friend, Larry Huggins of Lumberton, NC.
