Patricia Cyrs Mercer, widow of Howard Mercer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

She was born in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire on August 18, 1935 to the late Leo and Julia Cyrs. She was a member of Singletary Baptist Church. She retired from BB&T after many years, starting out when it was Southern National Bank. She was an avid book reader and love to pass her love of books on to others, so they could enjoy them as much as she did.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Cyrs, and a brother, Jim Cyrs.

She is survived by her sons, Randy Mercer (Carolyn) of Lumberton and Ricky Mercer of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren, Cory and Cody Mercer, both of Lumberton, and Leslie Hathway (Richard), Stuart, and Toni, all of Arkansas; and great-grandchildren, Braxton and Yvaine.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Singletary Baptist Church in Lumberton, the Rev. Joshua West officiating.
