Osma Nye Boone, age 93, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on September 2, 1921 to the late Luther Parker and Ida Anne Hedgpeth Nye. She previously worked at the Mental Health Department. She was born and raised in Proctorville of which she was very proud, and a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber James Boone; five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Boone is survived by a son, Jim Boone and wife, Kathy Bower of Matthews; a daughter Camille Boone Davis of Carolina Beach; four grandchildren, Amber Davis Stanley, Crystal Davis Shook, Eli Boone, and Katie Pickens; and six great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Dr. David Elks officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southeastern Hospice House, 1100 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358.
