Ms. Olinda Ransom, 77, of Lumberton, NC departed this life for her eternal home on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Woodhaven Nursing Center.Olinda was a  graduate of Fairgrove High School and Pembroke State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Master's degree in Education.  She was a retired teacher from the Public Schools of Robeson County.

Olinda was born in Robeson County on January 27, 1949, the daughter of the late Erdman Ransom and Cleaty Maynor Ransom.  She is preceded in death by her brothers, Erdman Ransom, Jr., and Gerald Ransom.

She is survived by one son, Christoper Ransom of Lumberton, NC and one sister, Brenda Spitzer of Lobeco, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, 3047 McDonald Road in Fairmont, NC.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kary Wilkins and Rev. Dr. Hilton Woodell officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery, 3854 Iona Church Road in Fairmont, NC.
