Norma Vidrene Britt Johnson, age 95, of Lumberton, NC, died on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Wesley Pines Nursing Home in Lumberton, NC where she was a longtime resident. She was born in Orrum, NC on May 23, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Lazora Britt; her husband, John Preston Johnson; her daughter, Vidrene Johnson Lytch; six sisters: Roma Rhodes, Vira Rhodes, Agatha Britt, Doris Edwards, and Kitty Britt; and four brothers: Jack Britt, Cebern Britt, Gurnice Britt, and Cardell Britt.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Lewis Lytch and his wife Liz of Zebulon, NC and Daniel Lytch and his wife Rachael of Moore County, NC; her son-in-law, Danny Lytch; and four great-grandchildren: Lottie, Lainey, Scout, and Birdie; as well as a whole host of nieces and nephews.

Norma worked as a substitute school teacher for 30 years. She was a member of Baltimore Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. She was also an election registrar, as well as being an avid gardener and she loved her puzzle books.

There will be a visitation held prior to the service on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Baltimore Baptist Church, 171 Baltimore Church Road in Fairmont, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Chuck Williams and Rev. Tim Tyner officiating. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 N. Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
