Norma Prevatte Britt, age 71 of Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully Friday, June 13, 2025, after 20 long, hard-fought years with Parkinson's.  She was born on Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, where her father was stationed, on April 10, 1954, but spent her life in Robeson County.

She worked for the Public Schools of Robeson County for over 30 years as a School Secretary and played the piano for Antioch Baptist Church before her and her husband, Cliff Ray Britt, moved to Hyde Park Baptist Church where they served together and she played the piano for well over 30 years. Norma Lou married the Love of her life Ray Britt on June 7, 1974 and they spent 51 wonderful years together.  During all those years they raised 2 wonderful children, Jeremy Ray and Stacy Norma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Prevatte, and brother, Michael "Frog" Prevatte.

She leaves behind her husband, Cliff Ray; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Joni Britt; her daughter, Stacy Britt; her 3 grandsons, the light of her life and her sunshine on the worst days: Luke Britt, Josiah Britt, and Jaxon Britt; and her mother, Betty Lou Prevatte, as well as some amazing family and special friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 301 N. Roberts Avenue in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
