Ms. Nina Locklear, age 68, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. She was born in Robeson County, NC on July 26, 1953.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Lee Locklear, and her brother, Mannix Basaldua.

Ms. Locklear was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She touched so many lives in so many ways, whether it was with a smile, words of encouragement, a small prayer, or just simply telling you to "Plead the blood" in any situation. Even on her weak and sick days, God was her strength and healer. She never lost faith.

Before sickness, she enjoyed simple things like spending time with her grandkids, listening to her gospel music, shopping, watching Westerns, and meeting new people. As much as she loved people, she loved her animals too – Cushion, Angel, Shay-Shay, and Truth. She lived a life that spoke for itself and will forever be remembered by her testimony here on earth.

She is survived by her parents, Ramon and Willie Lee Basaldua of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Tonya Locklear and husband Terry of Lumberton, NC; one son, Brian Arnette and wife Michelle of Franklin, NC; 5 grandchildren: Samantha (Adrian), Justin (Brittany), Casey, James, and Chance; 6 great-grandchildren: Jaelyn, Zoey, Baylon, Daylon, Raylon, and Easton; 2 brothers, Kimble Basaldua of the home and Miguel Basaldua (Lucy) of Charlotte, NC; 4 sisters: Dana Pyatt (Ted) of Greenville, SC, Toni Field of Belmont, NC, Cookie Mann (Robert) of Mooresville, NC, and Cheryl Carter (Lee) of Shannon, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend of 50 years, Vickie Bowers (Jeff); 2 special family members who were dear to her heart, Amber Locklear and Yvonne Flowers; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Randy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
