Mr. Nicholas Wayne Oxendine was born to Roberta Oxendine on January 29, 1978, in Robeson County. He departed this life on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Above all, Nick loved his children and granddaughter. Family, either by blood or choice, softball teams, racing crews, and a host of friends will forever be touched by Nick's light.  We all know Nick never met a stranger. Nick had a one-of-a-kind personality that would light up any room he stepped into.  He was full of joy, kind-hearted and one of the most hardworking people you could ever know. Nick was a man with a lifelong love for drag racing.  Nick loved drag racing and was a pivotal figure in the BAR Racing Team as crew chief.  Nick worked with many racers over the years and has touched many lives in the racing community.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Freeman Oxendine, and his paternal grandfather, James "Pete" Chavis.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving fiancé, Heather Quick of Fayetteville, NC; his mother, Roberta Oxendine of Fairmont, NC; his father, Barney Chavis of Fairmont, NC; three sons, Damian Hunt of Fairmont, NC, Dalton and Kasey Quick both of Fayetteville, NC; three daughters, Jerrain "Juicy" Hunt, Miracle Oxendine, and Sunny Oxendine, all of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Leslie Chavis and Victoria Clark, both of Fairmont, NC; two grandchildren, Nakyeah Locklear and Remington Hunt; his maternal grandmother, Lessie Oxendine of Fairmont, NC and his paternal grandmother, Mary Chavis of Fairmont, NC; a special uncle, Michael Chavis of Fairmont, NC and a host of relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2:00-4:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services 1549 Marion Stage Rd. Fairmont, NC. A funeral service will immediately follow in the Chapel at 4:00PM. Burial will follow in Fairpoint Church Cemetery.
