Nettie Rae Hayes Brown, age 85, of Lumberton, NC passed away at her residence on Saturday, November 16, 2013. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 1, 1928 to the late Douglas Hayes and the late Rethea Davis Hayes. She previously worked as a machine operator for Window Assembly Company. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Eades and second husband, Arrie Brown, and a brother, Douglas Carl Hayes. Mrs. Brown is survived by a brother, Marvin Douglas Hayes of Lumberton and two sisters, Sarah Bass of Lumberton and Helen Watkins of Lumberton; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Olivet Baptist Church, 7893 Monbo Road, Catawba, NC 28609 with Rev. David G. Anderson officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
