Nelson Junior Hunt, age 55, of Lumberton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec 2, 2025.

Nelson was born December 19, 1969 in Robeson County to the late DC Hunt and the late Shirley Dale Brooks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Hunt; his paternal grandparents, Trussie Hunt and Lizzie Bell Oxendine Hunt; maternal grandparents, Archie Brooks and Martha Jane Ransom Brooks.

A man of great warmth and humor. Nelson had a passion for fishing, dancing and drawing. He was also an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. Above all else, Nelson cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Nelson worked in roofing for several years.

Nelson will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and the light he brought into the world will live on in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his two children, Nelson Ryan Hunt of Baltimore, MD., and Jessica Hunt of Bixby, OK.; his stepson, Thomas "Mikey" Leight of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren, Kamden and Kashius Hunt, Dominique Williams, Jr., Devyn Williams, Damarion McCreary, Da'lani McCreary, Kaden Leight, Kymonee Leight, and Khali Leight; special cousins, Cindy Williamson, Sandra Locklear, Melissa Locklear, and Kara Boyd; a brother, Michael Dwayne Brooks; a sister, Jessica Jacobs; his maternal uncle, Stancil Brooks (Marilyn), Tony Brooks and Stoney Cummings; his maternal aunts, Geneva Brewer (Roger Mullins), Bobbie Hunt (Eric Dale), Wanda Miller (Jim), Nuella Inman (Randy),Annie Morgan (Jeffrey), Donna Hunt (Ken), and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 6:00-7:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc. 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont.
