Nellie Arnette Slater, age 82, of Lumberton, NC passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

Ms. Nellie was born May 4, 1940 in Robeson County to the late Wade Arnette and the late Ida Simmons Arnette.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Kilpatrick; four brothers, Jack, Tommy, Aaron and Grady Arnette; two sisters, Lerone Pate and Betty Gales.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Thompson (Charlie Taylor) of Lumberton, NC, Emmie Denning (Philip) of Erwin, NC and Tammy Hicks of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services 1549 Marion Stage Rd. Fairmont, NC. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at the Arnette Family Cemetery, Mitchell Rd. Fairmont, NC.
