Nellie Elizabeth Taylor Brown, 87, of Lumberton passed away at her residence on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. She was born in Cuba, NY on May 17, 1925 to the late Harry C. Taylor and the late Jenny Tucker Taylor. She previously worked for Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Brown; brothers, Hazen Taylor and Hubert Taylor; a sister, Gretchen; a great-grandson, Jordan Stoddard; and a step-grandson, Sean Brown. Mrs. Brown is survived by a son William Gayhart of the home; step-sons, Phil Brown and wife, Connie of Wilmington and Robert Brown and wife, Michelle of Charleston, SC; a daughter, Deborah Floyd and husband Llewellyn of Cuba, NY; step-daughters, Mary Manning of Mechanicsville, VA and Carol Thornley and husband, Roger of Charleston, SC; a brother, Thomas Taylor of Cuba, NY; sisters, Roberta Taylor of Olean, NY, Norma Gallagher of Allegany, NY, and Jady Peters of Carson City, NV; grandchildren, Shawn and wife, Valerie, Michelle, Sherree and husband, Kevin, Kari, Jay, Stephanie, Charlie, and Valerie; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a number of step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
