Nell Boone Crofton Wellington, 79, of Lumberton died at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton on Friday, August 19, 2011. She was born August 1, 1932 to the late George Ben Crofton and Mary Virginia Boone Crofton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Ben and Mary Virginia Boone Crofton and a son, John Thomas Wellington, Jr..

Mrs. Wellington is survived by her daughters, Virginia Wellington Webb and husband William of Williamston and Georgia Wellington Stephenson and husband Jimmy of Angier; a son, James Douglas Wellington of Lumberton; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Wellington of Winston-Salem; and grandchildren, Jeannette Webb, Virginia Webb Fortuno and husband Sebastian, Lea Stephenson, Heather Wellington Zamora and husband Jacob, Crofton Stephenson, Austin Wellington and Alexandria Wellington.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lumberton with Father Roger Kappel officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton. A reception will follow in the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
