Mrs. Myrtle Long DeVane, age 96, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Columbus County on April 11, 1919 to the late Joe & Bertha Long. She was formerly employed with Skinner Dry Cleaning Company.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis DeVane; 1 son, James DeVane; and 1 daughter, Nancy Lynn Wright.

Mrs. Myrtle is survived by 1 son, Richard DeVane of Tar Heel; 3 daughters: Minnie "Mickey" Morgan and husband James of Roanoke County, VA, Betty Barnes and husband Royce of Lumberton, & Sarah Winkler and husband Marty of Raeford; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tim Williford officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
