Mr. Montrea Neal Howell, 42, of Lumberton, NC, was born on August 29, 1979 and departed this life on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

He was a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School. He loved to spend his time with peacefulness and calmness of nature. Although many knew him to be a quiet man, he was passionate about helping others and had a profound love for people. Montrea was a true architect who enjoyed building, creating, and constructing a multitude of things. He was a true craftsman, one of a kind.

Montrea loved and cherished his time with his children and family. Whatever he desired to do, he accomplished that and beyond. Montrea was a genuine and true man who was loyal, determined, committed and very loving. A man of few words but expressive in his acts of service to you.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Furman & Alberta Smith Howell and Mildred McIver & Roy Sinclair, and a nephew, Nathan James Robert Willis.

Montrea leaves behind three sons: Montrez O'neal Houston Howell, Noah Mason Howell, and Isaiah Thomas Howell; one daughter, Jakiya Rose Howell; his stepchildren: Kayselyn McLamb and George Allen; his parents, Bobby & Shirley Howell; his brothers: Dennis Howell (Tawanda) and Nicholas Tarrell Howell; his nephew, Hunter Lee Howell; his nieces: Pamela Cox, Harmony Howell, Patience Carpenter, and Aubrey Carpenter; a great-nephew, River Marshall; and special friends: Kathy McLamb, Johnathan McLamb, Travis Cox, Terry Allen, Hailey Knight, and Gemma Houston.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 9:00-9:30 AM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM at Blanks Family Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Melissa Howell officiating.
